General information about our center and our activities:
- •IT center provides information technology services for the health, academic, research and administrative units of Başkent University. Our unit, which is structured as software, network and system groups carries out the current information and communication technologies within our university.
- •Our center has established a basic and fast website structure that covers the gigabyte Ethernet technology in the Baglica campus in the field of education. Our units, which take place in different geographical regions can connect to each other via this web and therefore, a productive integration of technology is provided.
- •Educational studies are conducted in laboratories equipped with sound and video devices and up-to-date computers throughout the campus.
- •Host computers throughout the campus are available to provide safe services of internet, e-mail, research, education and automation project processes continuously by the help of a system group.
- •With the assistance of Student Services Automation, College Automation System developed by our software group that provides service compatible with the ISO standards, all the academic affairs of the students are carried out through computers.
- •Our center also offers services for the providing and the installation of qualified software needed for education and studies, follow-up license procedures, keeping the existing PC-park in operation and providing the safety of information.
- •Our center, which gives great importance to the social activities of the students, has made it possible for the student social groups to set up their own internet sites and broadcast. - •Our students are provided with the service of broadcasting their e-mail and their personal web pages on the internet once they register and their e-mail addresses are active even after their graduation in order to be able to keep them connected to the university during their professional careers.
- •Our center, which provides support 24/7, has been working on a wide area of network among the Hospital Information Management System, Ankara, Adana, Alanya, İzmir, İstanbul and Konya hospitals. By the help of this structure, our system will be granted the title of ‘the university with the widest web system’.
- •The Hospital Information Management System includes services provided for the patients treated in our health units and their relatives. It aims for the prevention of waste of time during the processes, it enables the communication to be carried out in electronic environment and it prevents the unnecessary circulation of documents within the hospital.
- •The use of medical data, which is an indispensable issue of qualified treatment service, the internet service and e-mail services are reachable all the time for our doctors to make sure that they can find the latest medical data. Besides this, our doctors are offered soft and hardware support services during the preparation of their national/international training and seminar activities.
- •Our mission is to make it possible for our health units, which keep growing all the time, to benefit from all the facilities of the computer age. Our primary principle and target has always been to follow the technology, which keeps improving, and to apply the latest technological innovations on the existing substructure. While fulfilling our duty, we keep developing methods to access to the existing data when required and keep the data in the safest and the most convenient conditions.
