Biography...
Dr. Sert received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from Gazi
University, Turkey, in 2001 and 2006, respectively. He is appointed as an
assistant professor in the Department of Computer Engineering of the Başkent
University in 2006. He served as the department vice chairman at the same
department (2008-2012). He also serves as the faculty
administrative board member since 2008.
Dr. Sert has research and
teaching interests in theory and applications of multimedia content analysis and
understanding, multimedia database systems and querying, wireless and mobile
computing, and object-oriented software engineering.
He serves in
technical and organization committees of multimedia and database conferences,
including IEEE International Symposium on Multimedia (ISM), International
Conference on Flexible Query Answering Systems (FQAS), and International
Symposium on Computer and Information Sciences (ISCIS). He also serves as a
reviewer of the Springer’s Multimedia Tools and Applications journal.
Dr. Sert is the member of the IEEE and the IEEE Computer Society since 2000. |
