Tilos is
15 Nmiles from the island Simi. We reached Tilos all by sail. The small harbor
was full, so we spent the first night on anchor. The next day early in
the morming we happily moored in
the harbor which has mooring lines. Tilos is new built town with many
restaurants located at the sea side by the beach. It is possible to walk
around and see everything of the town in half an hour. The most important job
here was that Baris climbed to the top of the mast of Hummingbird (17m), first
time in his life as he has an illness of high anxiety. He put the wind
instrument there in right position.
Mooring to the harbor of Tilos is free of charge same as almost every Greek
island. Electric is 4 Euro/day, water is 2Euro/100Lt. They are doing this for
promoting the yacht tourism through their islands. It is completely different
in Turkey coasts. In Kaþ, Kalkan, Göcek, Fethiye, Marmaris, Bozburun, Bodrum,
Datça etc.. Without any exception the average mooring price is around 20
Euro/day. All sailors, local and foreign are complaining about this.
