Mooring in the harbor which is always crowded and complicated was not so difficult. The only problem was that the dinghy hanged down on the new davit was damaged when we were making siesta inside. It was scratched by a big metal electric cabinet on the shore. Patching it took half day. Since Simi was the first point of the sailing rout through Greek islands we filled the fuel tanks (Diesel 1 Euro/Lt) and we made the transitlog and visa stamps after waiting very long for officers came to their office. They do not have regular office hours.
The most important characteristic of Simi is the colorful stone houses mostly built
in old times but restorated all by very good order. There are some samples of these stone houses along the Aegean Coast of Turkey. They are called "Rum Evi" Greek house and usually very expensive. Unfortunately it is bad to say, the houses built in almost all sea side towns or villages of Turkey are very bad looking, ordinary houses which are called "Gece Kondu" which means built at night. For now coasts of Turkey take attention by the green nature and some historical ruins. If they go on burning the forests, Turkey will lose his place in Tourism.
