From Nisiros to Astypalia is around 50 NMiles and was the first time we had so wavy and very rough sea. Sometimes the front half of Hummingbird was all in sea and waves were all on board.  Sailing under this condition was a big adventure. Baris had sea sickness and the pill made him sleep. Finally  we reached Astypalia harbor by motoring the last hour. This island is different than Tilos and Nisiros , it looks typical Greek style we usually see on pictures. Very narrow streets, full sea view terraced houses, each side take you to the top of the hill where a castle and many windmills are located. The houses especially around the castle are very old built but mostly restorated for tourism. We met one friend from Spain but living in France who has a nice Amel S/Y ULYS  and who crossed all North Africa and Turkey by bicycle. He and his son were professional divers and Baris joined them in diving.
In the morning 25th of June we sailed to Vathi Bay which is located North West of the island. It is very well protected bay with light green color sea like some rivers. The land is the same as every other island which is all dry, without tre
es. Greek islands in general are in shortage of water. We stayed only one night in this bay.
